Cap Go Meh at Palembang


Cap Go Meh symbolize the 15th day and last day of Chinese New Year celebrations for the community of Chinese migrants living outside China. The term comes from the Hokkien dialect and literally means the fifteenth day of the first month.



In Palembang, the celebration of Cap Go Meh centered on the Kemaro Island which is one of the interesting attractions in the city. Various activities were held there, ranging from religion to entertainment.


Not only the Chinese who visit and enliven the activities of Cap Go Meh on the Kemaro Island, native also participated in that celebrations.
