The Great Mosque



One of the largest mosque in Palembang is "Masjid Agung" (The Great Mosque). Stands firmly in the middle of town. Beautifully wrapped by the light of night.

The mosque was built in the 18th century by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Jaya Wikrama. Today, the Great Mosque of Palembang has become a regional mosque in the ASEAN region. Located in district 19 Ilir, which is one of the original village of Palembang and the Arabs who have long inhabited.

Chicken Satay



That night, the weather was bit cloudy although not raining. Satay sellers lined up along the radial intersection.

Indeed not many customers, but they still passionate looking for fortune. Some people seem to stop and buy Satay. Mostly seems to eat on the spot, and some are just buying to bring home.

Religious Journey


That afternoon we rounded the streets in the city of Palembang, the destination is the mosques. The weather is quite hot, but in some areas appear cloudy.


The first mosque that we visited was the Mosque of Al-Mahmudiyah. The mosque is located in the Ki Gede Ing Suro street, that still on Ilir Barat II district.

Four of us, I, Agus, Ria, and Jepe began the photos hunting tonight.

That evening, after returning from Novri and Feri photo session, we immediately headed to Jakabaring to follow the next photo session with Icha. Some other photographers have been waiting for us there.

After a few poses and the sun began to sink, we went home. On the way home we see the the sunset in a place. Do not miss those moments, we immediately took the camera and shoot it. It was quite a beautiful scenery to be shared.

Night In The City

That evening, when hungry, we looking for a comfortable place to eat. I, Ria, Agus, and Rina finally eat at Redberry which located in Demang Lebar Daun. After eating full meal we go to Pusri immediately to take Rina back.

From Pusri we immediately to Jakabaring. Confused about where, finally we turn to the Jakabaring Mains Market.


When the Tofu Shop Not Selling It


On our way from Baturaja (South Sumatra) to Palembang, we took a stop at the tofu shop. These tofu shop, has a menu that is quite unique, which is tofu juice.

After the waiter came, we were ordered Sumedang tofu and tofu juice. But what happened? Apparently they ran out of tofu, probably because there are many customers who come in that day.

Finally I just ordered warm bandrek, and then we went from there.

Ex SEA Games Venues

After eating lunch, I am with friends go to the Jakabaring Area. From downstream to upstream certainly just through the Ampera bridge.


We entered Jakabaring Sport City area, and stopped at the venue for the water ski. There are few people seem to be around these venues. Some of them just walking, some of which also seemed to be cool to tandem with their mate.

Cap Go Meh at Palembang


Cap Go Meh symbolize the 15th day and last day of Chinese New Year celebrations for the community of Chinese migrants living outside China. The term comes from the Hokkien dialect and literally means the fifteenth day of the first month.
